Nanango hosted a visit today by Brisbane Broncos props Josh McGuire and Scott Anderson who travelled to the South Burnett for the semi-finals of the Anglo American Brisbane Broncos Wide Bay Rugby League Challenge.
High school students from Murgon, Nanango, Gympie, Kingaroy and Gayndah (Burnett State College) competed at Fred Kassulke Oval.
The Broncos chatted with the students in the dressing sheds and on the field, before presenting Man of the Match prizes.
The visit was part of a Regional Partnership Program, sponsored by international miner Anglo American, which has seen primary and secondary school students throughout southern and central Queensland treated to a visit by members of the Brisbane Broncos this week.
“Anglo American is delighted to join with the Brisbane Broncos and provide the regional areas of Queensland with the opportunity to meet and learn from members of the much respected Broncos,” company spokeswoman Jackie Noble said.
Brisbane Broncos Game Development Manager Paul Dyer said the team was also thrilled to partner with Anglo American and visit the club’s many fans throughout Queensland.
“The Brisbane Broncos value our partnership with Anglo American as it enables us to travel around regional Queensland, meet our many fans and share with them some of our skills,” he said.
Anglo American is the Broncos’ official Regional Partner and sponsors a number of Junior Rugby League carnivals across Queensland.
