Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure story Treasure Island will come to life in the South Burnett next week in two special performances to be held in the Kingaroy State High School Assembly Hall.
The play, co-produced by the Queensland Theatre Company and Matrix Theatre, has been written for children aged seven and above (and their families).
It is being brought to Kingaroy by South Burnett Stages, in conjunction with The Silicon Word and South Burnett Arts Inc, as part of the State Government’s ArTour program.
Treasure Island has it all … pirates, buried treasure, sword fights and secret maps.
This adaption, by Helen Howard and Michael Futcher, features 16 characters brought to life by just two actors.
It promises to be a magical theatrical experience for the whole family to enjoy.
The two performances will be held at 4:00pm and 7:00pm on Friday, July 27 (doors open at 3:30pm and 6:30pm).
Tickets are $10. Bookings can be made online or by contacting Liz Schneidewin on 0407-037-206.
