Outgoing President Tony Burgess congratulates new Kingaroy Lions Club President Neil Edmunds

July 13, 2012

Neil Edmunds has been inducted as the new president of the Kingaroy Lions Club.

At a recent dinner meeting, outgoing president Tony Burgess expressed his gratitude to the local community, local businesses and the club members for their highly valued support in the club’s activities over the past 12 months.

He said donations had been made to locally based community organisations, including the Kingaroy Hospital auxiliary, and much-needed assistance to the SES to upgrade their premises to allow a safer working environment.

Tony said the Club was also continuing to assist in the development of local youth through programs such as Youth Of The Year and the Kingaroy State High School’s “Active Citizens Program”.

Incoming president Neil Edmunds thanked Tony for his efforts over the past 12 months, and for handing over a very active club with such strong membership support.

He said membership had continued to grow over the past year, and the Club would welcome anyone who would like to come along sometime to see “what we get up to”.
