A second working bee and planning meeting have been organised for later this month at the Pound Street Community Garden site in Kingaroy.

The morning, to be held from 9:00am-11:00am on July 28, is being organised by the the South Burnett Regional Council’s Healthy Communities co-ordinator Kerry Oldfield and community nutritionist Berneice Hilly, from RHealth (the program whose future is currently under review by the State Government).

The aim is to establish a Kingaroy Community Garden group to use the Pound Street venue.

Pound Street will be closed off to all traffic due to floodway repair works so access to the site will be via foot. Parking will be available in surrounding streets.

BYO chair, sun protection, water bottle and gardening gloves (if participating in garden activities), and closed-in shoes.

Residents have been invited to come along to:

  • Learn more about how to be involved in the Community Garden either socially, in-kind support or to reap the benefits.
  • Contribute to the Planning Meeting on the day.
