The staff at Kingaroy’s Commonwealth Bank definitely weren’t sleeping on the job today, despite the fact they were wearing their finest pyjamas while helping customers.
The branch was supporting the second annual “Pyjama Day”, a fun day to help children in foster care.
By staying in their PJs and raising funds the Commonwealth Bank team was helping some of the 36,000 children in care around Australia.
Founder and Executive Director of the organisers, The Pyjama Foundation Bronwyn Sheehan said children in care were often subject to a cycle of disadvantage that can lead to long-term unemployment, homelessness and involvement in the justice system.
The Pyjama Foundation supports children in foster care through a learning based mentoring program delivered by volunteer “Pyjama Angels”.
Branch manager Ryan Harris said his team was happy to help a good cause.
