A 64-year-old man was lucky to escape major injuries this morning when he crashed his motorbike on the Kumbia-Brooklands Road.

Police said the rider lost control after hitting a pothole and loose gravel. The bike skidded on its side off the road.

The man was transported to Kingaroy Hospital for observation.
