Police are currently at the scene of a fatal traffic crash on the New England Highway, one kilometre south of Hampton.
Preliminary investigations indicate the female driver of one vehicle has died after colliding with another vehicle just after 8:30am.
The female driver of the other vehicle has been transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
The New England Highway is currently closed in both directions.
Diversions are in place via Keys and Brennan roads and onto Hampton Road.
UPDATE: 1:45pm The New England Highway south of Hampton is now re-opened following a fatal traffic crash this morning.
