Former South Burnett Mayor David Carter has been thanked for his service on the Board of Toowoomba Golden West South Burnett Tourism.
The Board’s latest Tapping Into Tourism newsletter noted there had been a changing of the guard on the TGWSBT board with the departure of Robyn Fuhrmeister (Balonne), David Carter (South Burnett) and Joe Ramia (Toowoomba) as local government representatives following the recent Council elections.
TGWSBT Chief Executive Officer Mary-Clare Power said she only met Mr Carter late last year but he had been very generous with his time and advice during her first four months with TGWSBT.
“Robyn, Joe and David have loyally served tourism throughout our region for many years and their knowledge, commitment and passion will be missed,” she said.
“On a personal note I thank them, and on behalf of all TGWSBT members a big thank you and good luck with your next adventures.”
Mr Carter will continue to act as chair of the Transition Advisory Board supervising the merger between Toowoomba Golden West South Burnett Tourism and Southern Downs Granite Belt Tourism.
