Talented women’s cricketer Holly Ferling, 16, starred in Kingaroy Services’ drought-breaking grand final victory over Murgon Crusaders at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.
The right-arm medium fast bowler took an amazing 2/9 off six overs.
It’s been seven years since Kingaroy Services has been in the winner’s circle but they overcame the defending premiers Crusaders easily, scoring 204 runs to Murgon’s 145.
Another standout in Service’s bowling line-up was Shane Winter who took 3/16 off just three overs.
Top scorer for Services was Anthony Eden who scored the bulk of the runs (121), including four sixes and 10 fours. He was eventually run out by Liam Exelby.
Top scorer for Crusaders was Tony Dugdell on 26.
