The 19th Autumn Garden Expo in Wondai attracted busloads of tourists to the South Burnett at the weekend as well as almost 120 exhibitors and thousands of local gardeners.
Parking was at a premium outside the Wondai Sportsground while crowds of green thumbs gathered in the Lions Pavilion and around the oval to browse displays ranging from native plants to cut flowers.
But it wasn’t all gardening … there was also a range of arts and crafts, furniture and clothing for the thousands of visitors to admire.
There were lots of food stalls, too, and Wondai Lions Club members were kept busy manning the barbecue.
The Stolzenberg Brothers musical duo entertained visitors who sought shelter from the sun under marquees erected by the organisers.
These marquees contained the old Kingaroy Town hall seats – rescued during the recent upgrade – which were put to good use as weary browsers rested their tired feet.
The Spring Garden Expo will be held at the same venue on September 29-30. For more details about this event, contact Fran on (07) 4168-5870 or by email
