South Burnett CTC’s latest newsletter demonstrates how the group’s staff are working hard in the Murgon and Cherbourg areas to help keep people safe at night.
People who have been drinking are at a particular risk of hurting themselves, but so are children if they are allowed to wander the streets at night.
Diversionary Patrol staff work from 8:00pm to 4:00am from Wednesday through to Saturday on Murgon and Cherbourg streets.
People are transported to a safe place to sober up – whether it’s their own house, a relative’s home or somewhere where they know they’ll be okay.
Safe Haven Patrol staff work from 4:30pm to 1:00am four nights a week encouraging children to return home or to another safe place.
