Friends Of Cultcha Gala Charity Night - Blackbutt
The Friends of Cultcha will be holding their annual Gala Charity Night at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall from 7:00pm until late this evening. The purpose of the function is to celebrate the fourth year of successful exhibitions by the group and it will feature works by all the artists who've exhibited at the Archie Muir Centre over the last 12 months; toe-tapping music from live entertainers Ridgey Didge; and the formal presentation of all funds raised by the Friends of Cultcha during the last year to the Blackbutt Council of Service Providers for distribution to local charities. The usual opening night food and refreshments will be served and a valuable art-related door prize will be on offer too. Tickets to the Gala Charity Function are $10 and should preferably be booked (or at least RSVP'd) by Friday 11th March to assist with catering. More details? All Country Music Show - Nanango
The first day of the three-day All Country Music Show will be held at the Nanango Football Grounds off the D'Aguilar Highway immediately south of Nanango from 5:00pm and 12:00pm this evening. Today's concert will feature Barry K. Chandler, Rebecca Lee Nye, Noel Williams, Samson James, Kelly Bugden, Michael King and Kylie Ellis and tickets are $20 for adults or $5 for young people aged 10 to 16 (children under 10 accompanied by an adult are free). 81st Annual Murgon Show
The 81st Annual Murgon Show will get underway from early this morning at the Murgon Showgrounds. Today's events will largely be confined to judging pavilion entries, led steers and speyed heifers (tomorrow is the Show's main public day). But the gates will open to the public at 1:30pm ($2 entry fee) and a dressage competition will be held at 2:00pm, followed by the judging of the led steer competition at 6:30pm. There'll also be live entertainment at the popular Cattleman's Bar around 6:30pm this evening along with a toad auction and toad racing. The Murgon Show Society will be holding a free sausage sizzle at the same time too. Everyone is welcome!
