Gundoo Day Care Centre at Cherbourg recognises that the more people you talk to, the more good ideas you’ll uncover.<\/p>\n

So it has invited parents, carers and citizens to join its staff for a yarn to provide ideas on how it can better prepare children for the future.<\/p>\n

A morning tea will be served at the centre in a cheerful, chatty setting at 10:00am on Monday, March 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cPeople may have thought of things we haven\u2019t yet,\u201d Gundoo director Jacui Tapau said.<\/p>\n

Gundoo provides a stimulating environment so children aged 0-6 can learn and socialise through play and fun activities.<\/p>\n

Kids are allowed to bring things from home that interest them and the centre\u2019s early childhood educators will build their knowledge about the item.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had one child bring in a penny turtle,\u201d Jacqui said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey took photos and are now expanding the children\u2019s knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said the youngsters were also learning about how people live in other countries.<\/p>\n

It was not about providing a babysitting service.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re a great avenue for our children to learn in a fun, playful environment,\u201d Jacqui said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re looking for fresh input and want people\u2019s ideas. They may have a skill they could provide, or teach the children about. We could have a carpenter teach them about how to build and make things.<\/p>\n
