The 2012 Wondai Show Miss Showgirl and Junior Rural Ambassador were presented with their sashes at a special gathering in Wondai last night.<\/p>\n

The 2012 Miss Showgirl is Kristen Wenck<\/strong>, with Emily Rutledge<\/strong> named runner-up.<\/p>\n

Brooke Rutledge<\/strong> was named the Wondai Show’s Junior Rural Ambassador.<\/p>\n

They were presented with their sashes by the Chairman of the interview committee Richie O\u2019Neill, who is the Sub-Chamber delegate for the South Burnett, and has just returned from the Brisbane Ekka after judging the Rural Ambassador competition.<\/p>\n

The three girls received presents donated by Visual Image Hair Salon, Wondai Pharmacy and Tranquillity and Soul.<\/p>\n

“We thank them for their continuing support,” Wondai API secretary Liz Stewart said.<\/p>\n

“All three competitors are looking forward to attending and competing in this year’s show.”<\/p>\n

NB. Miss Showgirl is usually named on the Friday before the show, but a decision was made this year to hold a special event on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saturday is the main public day of the Wondai Show with all the fun of the fair getting way at 8:30am.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Highlights this year include the Grand Parade at 2:30pm, which will be followed by live entertainment from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.<\/p>\n

The day will be capped off by the Wondai IGA Live Bucking Bull Bonanza in the evening, which starts at 7:00pm.<\/p>\n
