The outdoor movie held in Wondai’s Coronation Park on Thursday night enchanted its audience of young and old fans as the magical tale of the princess with the ice-cold touch unfolded on the big screen.<\/p>\n

The award-winning Disney tale “Frozen” was always going to be a big hit with the kids – there were several young “princesses” in the audience dressed for the occasion – but the hot chips and cold drinks on sale were also popular.<\/p>\n

The fund-raising night was organised by the Charlotte The Emu Memorial Committee as a follow-up to a similar event the group held in the park last November.<\/p>\n

Committee members served hot chips, soft drinks, bottled water and ice-blocks while the crowd listened to jazz by Tom McKenzie and waited for the sun to set.<\/p>\n

There was also tea, coffee and hot chocolate for sale.<\/p>\n

The evening was compered by CROW-FM station manager Chris “Corky” Corcoran, while the screening was carried out by the South Burnett PCYC using their mobile outdoor movie kit.<\/p>\n

The cost of the movie hire fee was donated by sponsors IGA Wondai, Bunya Realty, Wondai Mechanical, Hobbs and Associates and the Wondai Hardware and Trade Centre, and the hot chips were cooked up by the nearby Wondai Hotel and Cellar.<\/p>\n

The movie night was run as a fundraiser to help the Memorial Committee realise its goal of raising $10,000 to erect a permanent memorial to Wondai\u2019s town emu as well as providing Wondai families with an inexpensive, fun night out.<\/p>\n

The committee\u2019s next fundraiser will be a radiothon on CROW-FM 90.7 in mid-March.<\/p>\n
