Painting will begin soon at Nanango Hospital as a part of a program of backlogged maintenance work in the local health district – and local painters have been invited to tender for the job.<\/p>\n

Scheduled to start in April, the painting program will include a full internal paint of the administration building, painting of a section of the main hospital building and patch painting of the nurses\u2019 quarters.<\/p>\n

Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service (DDHHS) Project Officer for Capital Works Matt Smith said the works would provide the hospital with a new lease on life.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese painting works are part of the Backlog Maintenance Remediation Program which will include thousands of maintenance
\nprojects throughout the DDHHS,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be calling for tenders in the first week of March and we anticipate a start date in early April. With all things going to plan we would expect completion by mid-June.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The DDHHS Backlog Maintenance Remediation Program is a $50.6 million program of works, started in 2013 and continuing until 2016. <\/p>\n

Maintenance and remediation are being undertaken across all 20 hospitals and six residential aged care facilities under the control of the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Board.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
