The popular women\u2019s Pamper Days which ran across the South Burnett for five years between 2008 and 2012 will be making a comeback this year, thanks to BIEDO, Centacare South Burnett and the Department of Social Services.<\/p>\n

The Pamper Days are now called Women’s Wellness Days, and the first in the new series debuted in Proston recently when local ladies were invited to the Proston Community Hall for a free morning of relaxation and pampering.<\/p>\n

A total of 65 women attended the day which featured massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, giveaways and guest speakers from the local community.<\/p>\n

They were also treated to a free morning tea and lunch prepared by Proston QCWA members.<\/p>\n

And in a first for Pamper Days, a photo booth was available so the women could share some laughs and create some memories to take home.<\/p>\n

“In previous years the Pamper Days were very popular, so we are aiming to give the ladies of the South Burnett what they want … a morning to relax, learn new things and reconnect with women from their local area” acting BIEDO CEO Carmel Summers said.<\/p>\n

“We’re pleased to be able to offer the days again through the Department of Social Services Beating the Blues program.”<\/p>\n

BIEDO\u2019s Community Liaison Officer Nicole O\u2019Brien organised of the day.<\/p>\n

“We had a great day in Proston. Local women shared their stories and the ladies enjoyed many of the same services we’d had at previous pamper days,” Nicole said.<\/p>\n

“Some women had never had a massage or a facial, so it was nice to see them put their feet up for a few hours and treat themselves.<\/p>\n

“The photo booth provided a few laughs, and so did the Laughing Yoga session conducted by Proston\u2019s community health nurse, Kathy Crane.”<\/p>\n

Further South Burnett Women\u2019s Wellness Days will be held later this year.<\/p>\n
