The historic Dickabram Bridge over the Mary River near Theebine will be closed from early next week so it can be inspected for safety and signage improved.<\/p>\n

\u201cA temporary closure will be required during the first week of the inspection to allow the bridge crew safe access to all parts of the bridge,” Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss said.<\/p>\n

The bridge will be closed to all traffic from 9:30am to 2:30pm between March 2-6.<\/p>\n

During the temporary closure a signed detour will be in place via Old Gympie Road, Bauple-Woolooga Road and Munna-Miva Road.<\/p>\n

New signs will also be installed to restrict pedestrian and bicycle access to the bridge.<\/p>\n

The Dickabram Bridge, built by McDermott and Owen, was completed on June 1, 1886.<\/p>\n

It is just over 200m in length and probably the only rail and road bridge built to its design in Queensland.<\/p>\n

It was the the most important bridge on the former Kingaroy rail line.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
