The award-winning Disney animated fantasy “Frozen” will be the feature film at this Thursday’s outdoor movie night<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Parents searching for an inexpensive night of family fun should head to Coronation Park in Wondai this Thursday.<\/p>\n

Wondai’s Charlotte The Emu Memorial Committee will be hosting their second Movie Night Under The Stars in the park from 6:30pm.<\/p>\n

And it promises to be just as good as the group’s first outdoor movie night in November, which saw almost 200 people turn out to enjoy the Aussie comedy “Red Dog” along with freshly cooked chips, soft drinks and ice creams.<\/p>\n

This time around, the feature movie will be the award-winning Disney animated musical fantasy “Frozen”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen”, the film tells the story of a fearless princess who sets off on an epic journey alongside a rugged iceman, his loyal pet reindeer and a naive snowman to find her estranged sister, whose icy powers have inadvertently trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.<\/p>\n

This heart-warming tale, which is every bit as entertaining for adults as it is for children, packed theatres and drew rave reviews when it was released in 2013.<\/p>\n

So if you missed it first time around – or simply want to see it again – Thursday night’s outdoor screening will provide a great opportunity to enjoy the experience.<\/p>\n

The outdoor movie night is a fundraiser for the Emu Memorial Committee.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The group have been working for more than six months to raise $10,000 so they can build a permanent steel sculpture to the town’s beloved emu Charlotte, who died last May.<\/p>\n

However, the evening is also designed to give Wondai residents and supporters an inexpensive night of family fun.<\/p>\n

Committee chairman, CROW-FM station manager Chris “Corky” Corcoran, said the group’s first Movie Night had received such a positive reaction from everyone who attended that a repeat run was virtually inevitable.<\/p>\n

“Coronation Park is a perfect setting for outdoor movies,” he said.<\/p>\n

“For a gold coin donation, people can just bring along their chairs or blankets and camp out around the giant inflatable screen.<\/p>\n

“We’ll have hot chips, soft drinks, water and ice-creams available for $1 to $2, and this time around we’ll also have tea and coffee available too. Parents can bring their children along, have a great family night out, and it won’t break the budget.”<\/p>\n

The Movie Night will start at 6:30pm and “Frozen” will screen about 7:00pm and run for 90 minutes.<\/p>\n

The event is being sponsored by IGA Wondai, the Wondai Hotel & Cellar, Bunya Realty, Mon-dee Coffee 2 Go, Wondai Mechanical, Wondai Hardware and Trade Centre, Hobbs and Associates Accountants and the South Burnett PCYC.<\/p>\n
