Durong grazier Georgie Somerset and Kingaroy GP Dr Isabella Jonsson-Lear will be the guest speakers at the Quota Club of Kingaroy’s International Women’s Day Dinner next month.<\/p>\n

Mrs Somerset is a well-known Durong grazier and last year was nominated as one of the \u201c100 Women of Influence\u201d in the rural category in awards sponsored by The Australian Financial Review and Westpac .<\/p>\n

She is vice-president of Queensland AgForce, a Board member of the QRAA and the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, chair of the Red Earth Community Foundation and a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.<\/p>\n

Born in South Africa, Dr Jonsson-Lear is a Kingaroy GP who is possibly best known outside the South Burnett as being the personal physician of former Queensland Premier Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen.<\/p>\n

The dinner will be held from 6:00pm on March 7 at the Senior Citizens Centre in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Cost if $45, or $240 for a table of six, which includes a two-course meal, tea and coffee.<\/p>\n

As well as the guest speakers, there will be a raffle, auction and other prizes.<\/p>\n

Tickets can be bought at Office Central in Haly Street, Kingaroy, or ring Rebecca 0447-222-446 or Alison (07) 4162-3582 before February 28.<\/p>\n

Money raised will be donated to the Kingaroy Senior Citizens and the Hear and Say Centre.<\/p>\n
