{"id":96175,"date":"2015-02-14T12:00:28","date_gmt":"2015-02-14T02:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=96175"},"modified":"2020-06-30T13:01:01","modified_gmt":"2020-06-30T03:01:01","slug":"good-roll-ups-for-local-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2015\/02\/14\/good-roll-ups-for-local-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Roll-Ups For Local Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_82922\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-82922\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/jimbond2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-82922\" title=\"Bowls dinkus\" src=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/jimbond2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-82922\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>February 14, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>by Jim Bond<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>February is rolling along quite smoothly, and all clubs are reporting good roll-ups for their competitions and championship events. <\/p>\n<p>Kingaroy has is top green back in action after extensive maintenance and refurbishment.  <\/p>\n<p>And the Kilcoy Mens Championship draw is on the board and  set to go.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, Kingaroy leads our bulletin this week:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Kingaroy News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Eighteen teams got together for the ever popular Jackpot Pairs last Sunday. <\/p>\n<p>This competition is played over two games of 18 ends, and the team with two wins and the highest combined margin  is declared the winner. <\/p>\n<p>The Jackpot number is spun with a cash jackpot on offer.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of play there were four teams with two wins each and the overall margins decided the result<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Wendy Turner and Richie Patterson &#8211; 2 wins plus margin 24\n<li>Runners-Up: Troy Schultz and Greg Schulz &#8211; 2 wins plus margin 18\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Jackpot number was 61, and the jackpot was shared between Glady Slatter\/lan Rogerson and Bob Bougoure\/Maureen Semgreen&#8217;s teams.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the newly renovated top green was opened for use after extensive work was carried out during its annual maintenance and refurbishment. <\/p>\n<p>The green was playing slower than its counterpart the bottom green, however the run was true and consistent<\/p>\n<p>One game of Pairs and four games of Triples were played.<\/p>\n<p>Results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pairs: Peter Neilsen and Ross Olsson def. Maree Millard, Paul Marychurch and Ray Maclaren 21-19\n<li>Lindy Clutterbuck, Barry O&#8217;Brien and Kev Raffin def. Briggitte Kung, Geoff Clutterbuck and Col Kratzmann 26-10\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Yarraman News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It was a big day last Saturday &#8211; Fish Day. <\/p>\n<p>This popular tournament was sponsored by Horst Myer and Neil Johnston, and featured two games of 16 ends.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Brian and Kay Dugdell &#8211; 46\n<li>Runners up: Kerry Knowles, Terri Silcox and Lorri Holmes &#8211; 44\n<li>Third: Keith Carroll, Nev Lawrence and Chris  MacLeod &#8211; 40\n<li>Sportsman Award: Alison Anderson, Margaret Willoughby and Eunice &#8211; 24\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other scores of interest:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kev Profke and Tom Johnson &#8211; 38\n<li>Neil Currell, Glenda Wolski and Di Currell &#8211; 30\n<li>Horst Myer and George Wolski &#8211; 30\n<li>John Beattie and Ron Lucas &#8211; 30\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wednesday was Ladies Club Day and it saw the following results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Neil Currell, Robyn Diercke and Wayne Emms def Brian Dugdell, Kay Dugdell and Eunice Smith 14-12\n<li>Nev Lawrence, Leo Robinson and Alison Anderson def Di Currell, Ivy Wrembeck and Margaret Willoughby 18-12\n<\/ul>\n<p>And in the Thursday Night Social:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Brian Dugdell, Eunice Smith and Kenny Walsh def. John Moore, Arthur Smith and Kerry Walsh 30-6\n<li>Kev Profke, Sandra Currell and Margaret Willoughby def. Todd Currell, Jenny Moore and Wayne Emms 28-11\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Nanango News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Last Friday in Scroungers, Greg Pogson was top of the board again with 78. Next best was Henry Bliesner with 56<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday in the Men\u2019s Social, the winner was decided by the highest score.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Bob Hammond and Glen Yeates &#8211; +36.\n<li>Trevor George and Brian Havell &#8211; +32\n<li>Josh Fisher and Jim Fowler &#8211; +28\n<li>Neil Drew and Henry Bliesner &#8211; +27\n<li>Lew Saunders and Allan Ward &#8211; +22\n<li>Bob Hall and Kevin Profke &#8211; +21\n<li>Joe Aglizzio and Mike Wyvill &#8211; +12\n<li>Cec Bracken and Greg Pogson &#8211; +11\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Wednesday, in the Ladies Social, one score of interest was Sylvia Fanning and Sue Tucker close win over Di McNeilage and Evelyn Jensen 13-11. <\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Kilcoy News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>On Monday of last week, Jenny Edwards, Pauline Lawson, and Phyl and Darrell Coffee attended Donnybrook&#8217;s Financial Day. <\/p>\n<p>They didn&#8217;t win the bowls but had a very enjoyable day.<\/p>\n<p>And on Tuesday in the Star of the Green competition: Jenny Edwards defeated Noel Lanes and will play John Worrall next week.<\/p>\n<p>In the Jackpot Social:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Leigh Irwin, Trudi Pratt and Gina Ryder def.Jenny Edwards, Jeff Welden and Pauline Lawson 29-10\n<li>Bill Edwards, Dave Scott and Kelly Charters def.
