UPDATE 5:25pm:\u00a0 A late afternoon storm has washed out the opening night of the Kings Royal speedway meeting in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organisers said with good weather forecast for Saturday, the entire Friday and Saturday night programs would run from 1:00pm tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The Friday program would run first then would move straight onto the Saturday night program as originally planned.<\/p>\n

Gates will open at 9:00am for scrutineering.<\/p>\n

The drivers’ briefing will be at noon with hotlaps for modified sedans hitting the track at 1:00pm.<\/p>\n

UPDATE 4:20pm: South Burnett Speedway officials are assessing the track to see if the speedway can go ahead this evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlier today:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The huge three-day Kings Royal speedway meeting is still scheduled to roar into life at 5:30pm this afternoon in Kingaroy despite the heavy rain overnight.<\/p>\n

Racing this evening will include Night 1 of the Kings Royal for Modified Sedans, the South Burnett Junior Nationals and the Peanut Crown for 4 cylinders.<\/p>\n

A total of 78 cars have nominated for the Kings Royal, competing for a $10,000 winner’s cheque.<\/p>\n

More heats of the Kings Royal will run on Saturday with the final on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

The Peanut Crown and the South Burnett Junior Nationals will both be decided on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Saturday night will also feature the traditional fireworks display.<\/p>\n

Production Cars (the Australian Grand Prix) will get underway on Saturday and conclude on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Street Stocks will get into action on Sunday.<\/p>\n

All up, 177 nominations have been received in all classes for the weekend, making it one of the biggest weekends of racing held at Lucas Oil Kingaroy Speedway.<\/p>\n
