The Wooroolin Community Committee has received $1723 from the Federal Government\u2019s Anzac Centenary Grants Program to restore World War I photographs.<\/p>\n

Member for Maranoa Bruce Scott said the restoration and preservation of the images would ensure the stories of local residents who served would not be forgotten.<\/p>\n

\u201cWooroolin is a small rural community which takes great pride in its history,” he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Memorial Hall was built by locals in memory of soldiers who did not return home to the area and, each year, more than 200 people attend the Anzac service held at the hall.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project will benefit the wider community \u2013 enabling everyone to gain an appreciation of the First World War\u2019s impact on local families and the region.<\/p>\n
