Time is running out to catch Tingoora artist Robyn Dower’s multimedia installation at the Wondai Art Gallery.<\/p>\n

The exhibition “A Sense Of Wonder” was three years in the planning but was almost scuttled at the last moment when South Burnett Regional Council found termites were damaging the gallery building.<\/p>\n

However, the repair work was scheduled for February which meant the unique exhibition, a three-dimensional recreation of “Grandma Kate’s Cottage”, could run uninterrupted over summer.<\/p>\n

But time is almost up and the exhibition – and the gallery – will close on January 31.<\/p>\n

Art lovers need not despair.<\/p>\n

While Council undertakes the repairs at the gallery, the regular monthly art exhibitions will shift into the nearby Wondai Town Hall.<\/p>\n

First of the rank will be “Kurrawinya Images” by photographer Penny Kittel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The collection showcases rural Australia and ranges from barb wire to horses, with photos taken from Queensland to South Australia.<\/p>\n

This exhibition will remain at the Town Hall for February.<\/p>\n

Also happening will be the special “Under The Bed Sale” which will run at the Town Hall during February and March.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“This is a very special two months that only happens every three or four years,” gallery curator Elaine Madill said.<\/p>\n

“It provides an opportunity for any artist who has work that has not been sold to join our \u2018under the bed sale\u2019 at no expense to themselves (ie no entry fee and no commission will be charged).<\/p>\n

“There is no restriction on the amount of art, however it must be original art by the artist themselves.”<\/p>\n

Artworks for sale will include ceramics, 2D & 3D work and photography (March only).<\/p>\n

“This is a great opportunity for the public to pick up some bargains,” Elaine said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
