Heritage Nanango Community Bank’s model has been proven again with another year of solid profits and an extensive community grants program, guests at Heritage Nanango Community Funding’s (HNCF) 13th Annual General Meeting have heard.<\/p>\n

The group’s AGM was held recently at the Burnett Business Centre in Nanango.<\/p>\n

Chairman of Directors Wendy Zerbst, delivering the keynote address, reported that HNCF’s financial performance over the previous year had been excellent.<\/p>\n

“Our company utilises the best community banking model available, thanks to our Joint Venture Agreement with Heritage Bank, and has proven it again this year,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Our very healthy profits continue to remain steady, and we have once again been able to support our local community with a large amount of sponsorship funding.”<\/p>\n

Ms Zerbst said that several major grant projects had been completed over the previous year.<\/p>\n

They included funding for the Nanango Community Men\u2019s Shed, and carrying out painting and repairs to Ringsfield House.<\/p>\n

“With dedicated volunteers plus our funding help, Ringsfield House is looking absolutely stunning and is a real asset to our community.” she said.<\/p>\n

Ms Zerbst also noted that the “Heritage Lodge” project is progressing steadily.<\/p>\n

Heritage Lodge is a 50-50 partnership with CTC which aims to build a number of specialist disability duplexes in Nanango,<\/p>\n

“Many Nanango and district events are now sponsored by Heritage Bank to either enable them to run or to enhance their impact on our local social scene,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We have been able to inject vast resources into the community over the last decade.<\/p>\n

“This is funding that would not have been available had members not supported the original concept of such an excellent community banking model.<\/p>\n

“Our challenge over the coming years is to continue to seed really worthwhile projects that have a tangible impact on our community.”<\/p>\n

Ms Zerbst advised those present that directors have no direct involvement with the branch’s day-to-day operation.<\/p>\n

She thanked branch manager Robert Shaw and his staff for their dedicated efforts at the Heritage Nanango Community Branch.<\/p>\n
