South Burnett came away with the win after a close tussle with Gympie in their Goodchild Shield match played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The visitors batted first and were dismissed for 189.<\/p>\n

Lewis Waugh (48)\u00a0 and Zac Gagen (33) kept the scoreboard ticking over.<\/p>\n

Wayne Kelly was the best of the South Burnett bowlers, taking 3\/43 off his 10 overs.<\/p>\n

Dean Olzard, who later starred with the bat, finished with 2\/22 off his 10, while Will Mewburn took 2\/20 off eight overs and Taylor Herrmann 2\/31 off seven.<\/p>\n

In reply, South Burnett started to methodically wear away at the Gympie lead.<\/p>\n

Dean Olzard (45 not out), Brady Roberts (34) and Stuart Robinson (30) did the damage.<\/p>\n

Troy Dennien came in at the deathknell to hit a quick 23, including the winning runs in the 37th over.<\/p>\n

South Burnett finished with 7\/192.<\/p>\n

Jarrod Darrach was the best of the Gympie bowlers, taking 2\/56 off nine overs.<\/p>\n

South Burnett won by three wickets.<\/p>\n

Dean Olzard also starred in Nanango Scorpions’ win over Warriors in Nanango in their A Grade game played at Nanango on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nanango were all out for 188 in the 26th over after Olzard belted out a match-winning 111.<\/p>\n

Benny Alexander (22) was the next best of the batsmen.<\/p>\n

Craig Patterson (7\/46 off 7.5 overs) and Kieran Askin (2-20 off 4 overs) were the best of the Warriors’ bowlers.<\/p>\n

In reply, Warriors were all out for 112 in the 29th over.<\/p>\n

Hayden Steene (52) and Phil Temperton (22) were the top scorers.<\/p>\n

Best of the Nanango bowlers were Brendan Weil (3\/37 off nine overs) and Dylan Gilliland (2\/20)<\/p>\n

Kingaroy RSL Services continued on their winning way by defeating Wondai Wolves by seven wickets in their A Grade match played in Kingaroy on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wondai batted first and were all out for 114 off 34 overs.<\/p>\n

Geoff Wallis led the way with 25 while Luke Hedges (18) and Will Mewburn (11) also added some valuable runs.<\/p>\n

Best of the Kingaroy bowlers were Wayne Kelly (3\/37 off seven overs), Brett Porter (2\/11 off six) and Alex Dempster (2\/21 off seven).<\/p>\n

In reply, Kingaroy made the target in 23 overs for the loss off just three wickets.<\/p>\n

David Hosking (35 not out), Peter Horne (29) and Mark Schmidt (27) made the runs.<\/p>\n

For the Wolves, Kiall Rowberry finished with 1\/10 off three overs, Luke Hedges (1\/14 off three) and Clayton Graham (1\/35 off seven).<\/p>\n

The Kumbia Rattlers downed Warriors by 145 runs in their B Grade game played in Kingaroy on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kumbia won the toss and elected to bat a decision that paid off when they clocked up 253 runs for the loss of just three wickets.<\/p>\n

Edwin Simpson (82) Ryan Kelly (66 not out) and Tavis Hartwig (56) all made good scores.<\/p>\n

Matt Nesbitt was the best of the Warriors bowlers in tough going, finishing with 2\/44 of eight overs.<\/p>\n

In reply, Warriors were all out for 108.<\/p>\n

Ian Haak (26) Steven Heness (24) and Matt Nesbitt (15) all made starts.<\/p>\n

Tavis Hartwig tore through the Warriors’ line-up, taking 5\/21 off seven overs.<\/p>\n

Jayden Steinhardt took 2\/12 off four overs and Edwin Simpson 1\/0 off two balls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Brahmans defeated West Australian Country by three wickets in their one-day match played at Harry Trott Oval in Bendigo on January 12.<\/p>\n
