The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) has launched a new online manual for peanut growers.<\/p>\n

The new Peanut GrowNotes joins online manuals for sorghum, sunflowers, faba beans, maize, chickpeas, wheat, durum, barley and mungbeans.<\/p>\n

They can be found on the GRDC website<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Peanut GrowNotes includes the latest research information aimed at improving crop production and profitability.<\/p>\n

The module offers advice on all aspects of peanut production from pre-sowing planning to paddock preparation, sowing practices, crop nutrition, fertiliser, weed control, disease and pest management, harvest and storage practices, environmental issues and marketing.<\/p>\n

BGA AgriServices senior agronomist Ian Crosthwaite said the Peanut GrowNotes filled a gap in available technical resources.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Peanut GrowNotes module is a great technical resource for both agronomists and growers, particularly the younger people in our industry who are seeking detailed and up-to-date agronomic management information to broaden their knowledge and experience,\u201d Mr Crosthwaite said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere haven\u2019t been any comprehensive resources in the public domain covering the agronomic management of peanuts published since the mid-1990s so the Peanut GrowNotes will certainly be welcomed by the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the most exciting parts about this initiative is that it is so easy to access and will be kept updated as new information comes to hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

The GrowNotes library collates the results bank of research funded by GRDC and its research partners over the past 20 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
