Five local sports clubs have been successful in the latest round of the State Government’s\u00a0 “Get Going” grant scheme.
\n
\nThe clubs and projects to receive funding are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • $3700 for Football South Burnett to conduct come-and-try days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • $4854 for Kingaroy Golf Club to conduct a series of come-and-try days, deliver a promotional strategy and buy equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • $5350 for Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club to conduct four come-and-try days, accreditation courses and buy equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • $6540 for South Burnett Branch Little Athletics Centre to provide first aid accreditation and deliver education and training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • $5436 for Yarraman Bowls Club to conduct come-and-try days, coach accreditation and buy equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said “Get Going” provided clubs with better resources, equipment and services for attracting and retaining members. The scheme is part of the State Government\u2019s “Get in the Game” initiative.<\/p>\n

            \u201cSport and recreation clubs are an integral part of the local community and it\u2019s important that they have access to the proper resources, equipment and training opportunities,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

            Sports Minister Steve Dickson\u00a0 said that since the “Get in the Game” initiative began in 2012, more than 67,000 vouchers have been issued to help children participate in sport, 1330 clubs had been helped with activities to increase participation, and 360 infrastructure and facilities projects had been approved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
