Friday night’s rain played havoc with sporting events in the South Burnett on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Saturday’s Nanango’s Races were abandoned, with a new meeting being scheduled for Saturday, January 17.<\/p>\n

No A Grade cricket matches were scheduled for Saturday, but several B Grade matches had been set down for play.<\/p>\n

In Kingaroy, the Warriors v Kingaroy RSL game, due to be played at Lyle Vidler Oval, was washed out.<\/p>\n

In Murgon, the Colts v Barambah game was also cancelled.<\/p>\n

However, the Murgon Diggers v Kumbia Rattlers match, which was to be played at the Murgon Sportsground, was transferred at the last minute to Taabinga State School.<\/p>\n

The match was reduced to 30 overs because of the rain.<\/p>\n

Kumbia batted first and were 8\/143 off 30 overs.<\/p>\n

Diggers took 24 overs to overhaul the score, finishing with 3\/149.<\/p>\n

In Yarraman, the start of the local bowls club’s big annual carnival, the Rosalie Fours, was delayed but still attracted teams from all over south-east Queensland (results will be published in Jim Bond’s bowls column next Saturday).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
