Nanango Visitor Information Centre volunteers, partners and staff travelled to Moffatdale Ridge Winery for a Tuscan Feast on Sunday to celebrate the end of the year in a Christmas style.<\/p>\n

Before the feast began, the formalities were carried out by Cr Barry Green who, on behalf of the Mayor, thanked the volunteers for their tireless efforts during the year.<\/p>\n

The volunteers have contributed more than 5300 hours to the Nanango Visitor Information Centre this year.<\/p>\n

Cr Green presented a 10-year service certificate to Adelaida (Aida) Lavings who has been rostered on every alternate Friday since she started volunteering in 2004.<\/p>\n

“From what I am told, the added bonus of being rostered on with Aida is that she always brings morning tea, so there is great competition to be on these Fridays,” Cr Green said.<\/p>\n

The Nanango centre also said goodbye to volunteers Jeanette McBryde and Lyn Kiernan, who are retiring after 12 years of working every alternate Sunday.<\/p>\n

“Jeanette and Lyn will be greatly missed but they are looking forward to travelling and spending more time on their various interests, so we wish them all the best,” Cr Green said.<\/p>\n

From all reports the day was enjoyed by all – a perfect venue, food and entertainment coupled with good company.<\/p>\n
