Last year more than 54,000 permits were sold.<\/p>\n<p>Mr McVeigh said there were 32 dams and lakes in the scheme, providing a range of economic, environmental and recreational benefits for surrounding local communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe proposed changes will allow the expansion of this activity across the State and provide vital resources to allow our stock fisheries to grow and prosper,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe options have been developed in consultation with key stakeholders and we are now seeking wider community consideration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To have a say on the future of Queensland\u2019s Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme and freshwater management arrangements, download the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/publications.qld.gov.au\/storage\/f\/2014-11-24T01%3A09%3A46.961Z\/freshwater-ris-final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regulatory Impact Statement<\/a><\/strong> (823kb PDF).
