The Phillip Hughes tragedy was remembered at all cricket matches played in the South Burnett at the weekend, with a minute’s silence before games and players sporting black armbands.<\/p>\n

At Wondai Sportsground, bats were placed along the fenceline as part of the national “#putoutyourbats” tribute and “408” – Hughes’ Test number – was sprayed on the outfield.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Murgon Sportsground, the home team set a target out of the reach of Kingaroy RSL Services when they squared off in their A Grade game.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon Crusaders – who are undefeated so far this season – batted first and finished with 8\/172.<\/p>\n

Ashley Sippel (33), Lehman Brunjes (32) and Stuart Robinson (31) were the top-scorers.<\/p>\n

It was a tough day in the field for Kingaroy who were down a player.<\/p>\n

Wayne Kelly was the best of the Kingaroy bowlers, taking 4\/42 including a hat-trick. Darren Geiger also was successful, taking 2\/9 off nine overs with four maidens.<\/p>\n

In reply, RSL Services made 9\/107 (all out).<\/p>\n

Brady Roberts (25) and Darren Geiger (24) were the best of the batsmen.<\/p>\n

Richard Boles (3\/21), Jamian Currin (3\/26) and Shane Polzin (2\/11) shone with the ball for the Crusaders.<\/p>\n

The second A Grade game, played at Wondai, was a low-scoring affair between the Wondai Wolves and the Warriors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wolves won the toss and sent the Warriors into bat.<\/p>\n

Warriors were all out for just 48 (off 22.4 overs) with Andrew Askin (10) making the most runs.<\/p>\n

Geoff Wallis (4\/14 off seven overs) and Clayton Graham (3\/13 off nine overs) ripped through the Warriors’ batting line-up.<\/p>\n

In reply, Wondai took just 18.1 overs to overhaul the target, although they lost six wickets along the way – five of them to Taylor Herrmann who finished with 5\/23 off nine overs.<\/p>\n

James Cameron top-scored with 12.<\/p>\n

The Wolves won by 4 wickets<\/p>\n

Murgon Colts proved too strong for Murgon Diggers in the B Grade local derby played at Murgon Sportsground.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Colts batted first and made 190.<\/p>\n

Barry Fisher top-scored with 70, followed by\u00a0Tom Langton (46) and\u00a0Marc Riddell (24).<\/p>\n

Best of the Diggers’ bowlers were: Steven Alexander (2\/44 off six overs), Nathan Nixon (1\/31 off four), Kieran Thompson (1\/19 off eight) and Edward Allcock (1\/18 off three).<\/p>\n

In reply, Diggers were all out for 84 in the 31st minute.<\/p>\n

Mitch Pratt made 19,\u00a0Zack Dawson (17) and\u00a0Steven Alexander (15).<\/p>\n

Wickets were taken by Keith Walsh (3\/16 off five overs), David Warner (2\/10), Trent Riddell (2\/12), Brad Vanderkolk (1\/3), Aaron Vanderkolk \u00a0(1\/4) and Ryan Jacobs (1\/18).<\/p>\n

Warriors overcame Kumbia in their B Grade match played in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Warriors made 7\/158 while\u00a0Kumbia were bowled out for 95.<\/p>\n

At Taabinga State School, Kingaroy RSL overpowered Barambah in their B Grade match.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy batted first and made 199.<\/p>\n

In reply, Barambah were all out for 55.<\/p>\n
