The South Burnett branch of Animal Angels Rescue held a garage sale in Kingaroy last weekend to raise much-needed funds for the animal rescue organisation.<\/p>\n

Tables full of donated items were on display at the Girl Guides Hut in Mant Street.<\/p>\n

The morning also served as an “awareness raiser” for the organisation, which has been operating in the local area for about 12 months.<\/p>\n

AAR volunteers brought along their own animals – as well as dogs and cats that they were fostering – to add some liveliness to the event.<\/p>\n

The star again was Queeny and her 12 pups – a dog surrendered to the organisation who no one thought would survive the traumatic process of giving birth.<\/p>\n

A very special friend of Queeny was also recognised on the day.<\/p>\n

Grace Kerlin, 11, from Toorbul, heard about Queeny’s plight and set up a Facebook page to help raise funds for her. \u00a0She travelled up to Kingaroy especially at the weekend to see her and her puppies.<\/p>\n

AAR South Burnett branch co-ordinator Sam Pryor\u00a0\u00a0presented Grace with a certificate and presents as Animal Angels Rescue’s “Ambassador of the Year”.<\/p>\n
