Stanwell Corporation has come on board to ensure that art workshops for people with a disability can continue at SBcare in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Stanwell’s corporate sponsorship will ensure the popular workshops, which began this year, will run for another 12 months.<\/p>\n

The workshops encourage self-expression and creativity through various art media.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur participants are flourishing,” CEO Cheryl Dalton said.<\/p>\n

“Through this program we have been able to provide creative and engaging opportunities for people with disabilities across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n

The initial series of workshops were made possible through an Arts Queensland and South Burnett Regional Council partnership under the Regional Arts Development Fund.<\/p>\n

Local artist Kelley Crane enjoyed facilitating the program.<\/p>\n

“After every lesson we took the opportunity to look for ways to improve and vary the overall experience,” she said.<\/p>\n

Works by many of the students will be on display at the Disability Art Show which opens on Saturday, December 6, at the Kingaroy Art Gallery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We are so proud of their achievements,” Kelley said.<\/p>\n

SBcare prides itself on encouraging its clients to achieve what many may have deemed impossible.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were thrilled to receive feedback from one of the participant\u2019s parents who had mentioned that her daughter was so happy to be involved,” Disability Program Team Leader Jo Sellick said.<\/p>\n
