Work has begun to remove the above-ground infrastructure at Cougar Energy’s failed underground coal gasification plant at Coolabunia.<\/p>\n

Moreton Resources CEO Jason Elks told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> today most of the plant was being disassembled and removed.<\/p>\n

However, the company planned to keep an office and one of the sheds on site for future use.<\/p>\n

Ancillary plant, including machinery and tools, had been sold to a South Burnett business.<\/p>\n

A Darling Downs contractor was removing most of the metalwork, which would be scrapped.<\/p>\n

Moreton Resources was also donating about $100,000 worth of drill pipe and poly pipe to a local indigenous group for rural use.<\/p>\n

The company has made a commitment to have the infrastructure removed by Christmas.<\/p>\n
