Hospital staff and Ulysses members enjoyed a morning tea on Saturday to mark the donation of the new equipment to the Kingaroy Hospital\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For a bunch of bikers who want to “grow old disgracefully”, the Burnett branch of the Ulysses Club is failing miserably … they’re actually doing a lot of very good things.<\/p>\n

Last year they raised funds to help fit out a palliative care room at Wondai Hospital.<\/p>\n

This year, they’ve been raising funds to help out the Kingaroy Hospital.<\/p>\n

The results of their efforts were unveiled on Saturday: a new TV, chairs and coffee table in the waiting room for the acute care ward.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Hospital Director of Nursing Mark White said the waiting room was in a “high flow” area where people were waiting to come in for visits and also waiting for day surgery.<\/p>\n

He said the new chairs were solid, portable and could be easily wiped over, which would improve infection control.<\/p>\n

The Ulysses Club is a social club for motorcyclists aged 40 years and over.<\/p>\n

The Burnett branch meets on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00am at the Kingaroy Hotel, and also hold regular rides.<\/p>\n

Branch president Dale Grant said the club was expanding with new members joining in recent months.<\/p>\n
