Entries have been closed for some months.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, Wondai heads the bulletin this week&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Wondai News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Wondai regained the coveted XXXX Keg Trophy in their interclub clash with Murgon in Murgon last Saturday. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The trophy has been proudly on display in Murgon for a couple of years.<\/p>\n<p>The XXXX Keg Trophy a biannual Pairs event, where the overall scores of each club are calculated and the highest score retains the keg.<\/p>\n<p>This year the results were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A. Brown and T. White drew T. Lear and R. Hooper 18-all<\/li>\n<li>G. Allen and E. O&#8217;Rourke 23 def. J. Evans and R. Frahm 23-20<\/li>\n<li>D. Malpas and R. Latham def. E. Munro and J. Hawula 21-20<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The overall result was Wondai 164 to Murgon 159.<\/p>\n<p>Day Winners from Wondai were A. Olsen and L. Cecil with a high score of 30; and from Murgon, R. Currie and A. McConski with a high score of 26.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Nanango News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Fourteen teams from the Burnett District converged on Nanango last weekend when the club hosted the Annual District President and District Patron\u2019s Bowls Day. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Playing was two games of 18 ends, and scoring was wins plus ends.<\/p>\n<p>The results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wondai Team of Tim White, Terry Kilford, Allwyn Litzow and Eric O,Rourke &#8211; 2w +24<\/li>\n<li>Biggenden Team &#8211; 2w +21<\/li>\n<li>Durong Team &#8211; 2w + 20<\/li>\n<li>Binjour Team &#8211; 2w +19<\/li>\n<li>Nanango Team &#8211; 1w 1l +20<\/li>\n<li>Gayndah Team &#8211; 1w 1l +19<\/li>\n<li>Tansey Team &#8211; 1w 1l +18<\/li>\n<li>Goomeri Team &#8211; 1w 1l +16<\/li>\n<li>Burnett Officials Team &#8211; 1w 1l +14<\/li>\n<li>Kingaroy Team &#8211; 1w 1l +14<\/li>\n<li>Mundubbera Team &#8211; 2l +19<\/li>\n<li>Murgon Team &#8211; 2l +16<\/li>\n<li>Proston Team &#8211; 2l +16<\/li>\n<li>Yarraman Team &#8211; 2l +15<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the Men\u2019s Social on Tuesday, with conditions of play 1 for an end and 2 for a win:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nev Lawrence and Allan Wright &#8211; 18 pts<\/li>\n<li>Joe Aglizzio and Jim Fowler &#8211; 17 pts<\/li>\n<li>Bob Hall, Henry Bliesner and Allan Carr &#8211; 15 pts<\/li>\n<li>Bob Hammond, Greg Pogson and Ed Haycock &#8211; 13 pts<\/li>\n<li>Cec Bracken and Allan Ward &#8211; 13 pts<\/li>\n<li>John McConnell and Glen Yeates &#8211; 8 pts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Yarraman News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Yarraman is closing the gap on matches still to be played on their championship calendar. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The weather, medical appointments and social engagements delayed the finish of some sections of the honour roll.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, in a late afternoon start to avoid some of the heat wave, the semi-final of the Mixed Triples was finished under lights.<\/p>\n<p>The gallery didn&#8217;t know which side to support, but they applauded every good bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Robbie Douglass\u2019 team of Di Currell and Neil Currell got away to a good start against Lorri Holmes, Kerry Knowles and Bill Holmes.<\/p>\n<p>They led 6-1 after six ends.<\/p>\n<p>Then Bill cracked the whip and his own team were leading 13-12 after thirteen ends.<\/p>\n<p>From there on there were only single score wins on each end as they jockeyed up the scoreboard.<\/p>\n<p>After 21 ends the score was 18-all, so an extra end was called.<\/p>\n<p>Douglass\u2019 first bowl virtually clinched the match.<\/p>\n<p>He placed it beside the kitty and with two earlier bowls by his team, made a tight cordon around it.<\/p>\n<p>Three for the end it was game over: 21-18 to Douglass, Currell and Currell.<\/p>\n<p>The other semi-final still to be played.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Kingaroy News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Last Saturday Kingaroy held the Macleod\/Yeates Trophy Day sponsored by members Sharon and Glen Yeates and Charmaine and Malcolm MacLeod. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Conditions of play were determined by the sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>They comprised two 14-end games with the winners being decided by the number of games won and the number of ends won.<\/p>\n<p>Thirty players took to the greens in hot and breezy conditions. The winds were unpredictable and at times almost unplayable.<\/p>\n<p>However the games were completed without any untoward problems.<\/p>\n<p>Results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Evelyn Taylor, Maureen Semgreen and Ray Maclaren &#8211; 2 wins plus 21 ends<\/li>\n<li>Runners Up: Wanda Carland, Charmaine MacLeod and Glen Yeates &#8211; 2 wins plus 18 ends<\/li>\n<li>Third: Wayne Thatcher, Geoff Clutterbuck, Phil Kemp &#8211; 2 wins plus 16 ends<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Wednesday oppressive weather conditions curtailed the number of players on the traditional Ladies Day for bowls, with temperatures exceeding 34<sup>0&lt;\/\/sup&gt; celsius.<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maureen Kemp, Col Kratsmann and Gladys Slatter def. Marj Moore, Sharon Yeates and Charmaine MacLeod 23-21<\/li>\n<li>Des Richards, June Olsson and Val Jeppesen 20 def. Norma Rook, Ray Maclaren and Beryl Woods 20-14<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thursday&#8217;s Trophy Day, though, was quite a difference. 62mm of rain overnight completely changed the playing conditions for the monthly Trophy Day.<\/p>\n<p>The greens were noticeably slower than in recent weeks and it took bowlers a little bit of time to adjust.<\/p>\n<p>Conditions of play to determine the winners were the closest winning margin and &#8211; surprise!! surprise!!! &#8211; these conditions were only revealed at the end of the day&#8217;s play.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners: Peter Neilsen, Paul Marychurch and Ray Maclaren. &#8211; Margin +2<\/li>\n<li>Runners Up: Harry Read, Bob Bougoure and Hugh Harrison &#8211; Margin +6<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter Neilsen, Paul Marychurch and Ray Maclaren def.
