South Burnett Regional Council is calling on residents connected to town water supplies to conserve water.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe South Burnett region is currently drought declared and with forecasts predicting low rainfall for the forthcoming summer, Council will be considering implementing Level 2 water restrictions across the South Burnett region at the November General Council meeting next week,” water portfolio holder\u00a0Cr Barry Green said.<\/p>\n

At a recent Portfolio briefing, councillors agreed it would be prudent to begin to implement “demand management” of town water supplies.<\/p>\n

“It is important for Council to carefully manage the water supply on behalf of the region so that if required, moving to harsher restrictions will be a gradual process.\u201d<\/p>\n
