Kingaroy Police have reminded drivers that it is their responsibility to make sure their number plates are kept in good condition.<\/p>\n

Drivers can be fined for not replacing damaged or illegible number plates.<\/p>\n

Over time, excessive exposure to exhaust fumes, chemicals, stones, the sun and general wear and tear can damage plates and make them hard to read.<\/p>\n

Police and transport inspectors regularly check the condition of number plates.<\/p>\n

If the plates cannot be read and cleaning does not fix the problem, they must be replaced.<\/p>\n

Replacement plates can be organised through the Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre.<\/p>\n

Rear number plates must also not be blocked, for example, by a tow bar, bicycle rack or other accessory.<\/p>\n

If a bicycle rack or accessory blocks a number plate, and accessory plate must be used.<\/p>\n
