November 18, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

A short, sharp storm that moved from the north-west through parts of the South Burnett on Tuesday afternoon uprooted trees and caused damage along a narrow strip.<\/p>\n

Heavy rain and some hail fell on Wooroolin, Tingoora and areas north of Hivesville.<\/p>\n

One Wooroolin resident described it as “seven minutes of madness” on Facebook, praising the SES and firies for clearing fallen branches off the Bunya Highway very quickly.<\/p>\n

Fallen trees and strong winds were also reported at Nanango.<\/p>\n

At Wattle Camp, a \u00a0house lost its roof at the peak of the storm. <\/span><\/p>\n

Nanango SES group leader Robyn Baker said eight or nine tarpaulins were needed to cover the home with volunteers on site for many hours.<\/p>\n

Rainfall totals of up to 20mm were recorded at Windera, Wilkesdale and north of Nanango but the storm completely bypassed Murgon and Kingaroy.<\/p>\n
