Students at St Mary\u2019s Catholic College recently performed as part of the college\u2019s annual “Instrumental Evening”.<\/p>\n

A crowd of some 60 family, friends and teachers came along to watch as the students showcased their talents on instruments ranging from the violin through to the drum kit and clarinet.<\/p>\n

Music teacher Michael Scanlan was impressed by the performance standard of the students.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an absolute pleasure to see our students taking up the chance to perform for an audience \u2013 some for the very first time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Scanlan also highlighted the gratitude the College felt towards its three instrumental tutors: Grant Jeppeson (guitar), Jo Hopkins (woodwind, brass and piano) and Jo Kennedy (strings).<\/p>\n

“Nights like these would be impossible without the work these three teachers have put in with their students. I\u2019m also extremely grateful to the College\u2019s P&F for providing grants to purchase new instruments for the program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
