Smoke blankets Smith Road at Booie this afternoon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

November 13, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eight rural fire crews worked to contain a fire in Smith Road at Booie this afternoon – the second fire along the road in less than 24 hours.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesperson said the fire broke out about 1:30pm.<\/p>\n

It quickly crossed paddocks and lightly timbered country, covering about 5ha.<\/p>\n

Firefighters had the blaze contained by 2:30pm and started “mopping up” operations.<\/p>\n

The fire posed no threat to property but heavy smoke reduced visibility along Smith Road.<\/p>\n
