Day is one of the most popular on the Yarraman calendar; Glen Yeates (Burnett District), Brian Dugdell (Yarraman President), Russell Henness (Burnett District), Len Bycroft (Goomeri) and Jeff Redden (Durong) started the day by having breakfast together<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><strong>Yarraman President at Home<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Yarraman\u2019s President\u2019s &#8220;At Home Day&#8221; last Sunday was a great trial for the club&#8217;s big Rosalie Fours Carnival which is coming up on the first weekend of next month. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The club\u2019s resources responded marvellously to the demands of a big tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the recent extremely hot weather. the greens were in great form, the grounds were resplendent with a whole bank of roses coming into bloom, the catering staff excelled, and the Games Director and his team had everything under control.<\/p>\n<p>A capacity field of sixty-four players filled the rinks.<\/p>\n<p>Teams came from all of the clubs in the southern section of the district, and visitors from the Brisbane Valley made for a strong competition.<\/p>\n<p>The club apologised to Binjour in the northern half of the district that the tournament clashed with their own President\u2019s Day, and Yarraman have already moved to avoid clashes in future years by scheduling next year\u2019s competition to August.<\/p>\n<p>The Burnett District fielded an official team and they waltzed away with the trophies by scoring two wins and 56 points, well ahead of the next best which were Nanango (1) on two wins and 52 points.<\/p>\n<p>The District team comprised Glen Yeates, Brian Havell, Lew Saunders and Russell Henness.<\/p>\n<p>Nanango&#8217;s team was Warren Arthur, Neil Drew, Delvyn Powys and Erroll Young.<\/p>\n<p>Other team results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tansey &#8211; 49 points<\/li>\n<li>President Brian Dugdell &#8211; 47<\/li>\n<li>Murgon &#8211; 46<\/li>\n<li>Durong &#8211; 45<\/li>\n<li>R. Golinski &#8211; 43<\/li>\n<li>Neil Johnston &#8211; 40<\/li>\n<li>Nanango (2) &#8211; 39<\/li>\n<li>Proston &#8211; 39<\/li>\n<li>John Moore &#8211; 35<\/li>\n<li>Andy Box &#8211; 32<\/li>\n<li>Kingaroy &#8211; badge from President Brian Dugdell<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Yarraman Pub Day<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Yarraman was once again the centre of attraction on Thursday, which was Pub Day. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Teams came from Kilcoy, Crows Nest, Lowood and even two from Toogoolawah to take part, and it must have been horses for courses because Yarraman scored first, second and third prizes.<\/p>\n<p>Toogoolawah gave them a bit of a run for their money, though.<\/p>\n<p>Toogoolawah (1) took out the first round on a count-back, and Toogoolawah (2) turned up trumps in round two.<\/p>\n<p>The competition was over two rounds on points and the key results were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall Winners: Nev Lawrence (Blackbutt) &#8211; 37<\/li>\n<li>Second: Neil Johnston (Yarraman) &#8211; 36<\/li>\n<li>Third: Merv Fitch (Yarraman) &#8211; 30<\/li>\n<li>Winner First Round: Toogoolawah (2) &#8211; 25<\/li>\n<li>Winner Second Round: Toogoolawah (1) &#8211; 19<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Others:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kilcoy &#8211; 34<\/li>\n<li>Crows Nest &#8211; 34<\/li>\n<li>Lowood &#8211; 29<\/li>\n<li>John Moore &#8211; 29<\/li>\n<li>Doreen Fitch &#8211; 24<\/li>\n<li>Neil Currell &#8211; 20<\/li>\n<li>Kerry Knowles &#8211; 16<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PS: Yarraman&#8217;s Men\u2019s Triples championship is nearing completion, and it should be worth watching.<\/p>\n<p>The second semi-final will be held today when Robbie Douglass plays Brian Dugdell, with the winner to play Merv Fitch tomorrow, November 9.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Kingaroy News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The highlight of Kingaroy\u2019s activities for the past week or so was the finals of the Men&#8217;s Triples Championships.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The two semi-finals on Saturday attracted a lot of interest.<\/p>\n<p>They were played between a Hugh Harrison skipped team versus Bob Robinson\u2019s team, while the other game was skipped by Mark Williams against Kev Raffin.<\/p>\n<p>Both competitions closely fought and the final on Sunday attracted a gallery, but it was Mark Williams\u2019 trio who eventually toppled Hugh Harrison\u2019s team 25-17.<\/p>\n<p>Results &#8211; Semi Finals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hugh Harrison def. Bob Robinson 22-19<\/li>\n<li>Mark Williams def. Kev Raffin 31-15<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the final, Greg Schulz, Paul Gertz and Mark Williams defeated John Coppard, Dave Clapperton and Hugh Harrison 25-17.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>In Weekly Triples on Thursday last week, the weather conditions were once again more than a little warm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But most of the stalwarts turned out for the popular weekly event, and there were some close games including a draw.<\/p>\n<p>Results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter Neilsen, Felipe Munoz and Bob Robinson def.
