October 29, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Five fire crews were called to a house fire in Taylor Street West, Murgon, about 5:20pm this evening.<\/p>\n

The fire, in a highset Queenslander, had engulfed the house by the time fire crews arrived.<\/p>\n

At 6:00pm, firefighters were protecting a number of nearby structures and still working to control the fire.<\/p>\n

A large smoke haze was affecting the area and the QFES advised residents to close windows and doors and keep medication on hand if suffering from a respiratory illness.<\/p>\n

Motorists were asked to drive to conditions and be mindful of emergency services personnel working in the area.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesman said six people lived in the house, but all were accounted for.<\/p>\n

Fire and Serious Crime Squad investigators were also at the scene.<\/p>\n

No further details are known at this stage.<\/p>\n

[UPDATED: 7:20pm]<\/strong><\/p>\n

* * *<\/b><\/center>UPDATE October 30:<\/b> Fire investigators visited the scene of last night’s blaze this morning but police believe there are no suspicious circumstances. An electrical fault may have started the fire.<\/p>\n
