{"id":86217,"date":"2014-10-29T15:44:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-29T05:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=86217"},"modified":"2025-09-24T14:26:31","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T04:26:31","slug":"ergon-grants-round-opens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2014\/10\/29\/ergon-grants-round-opens\/","title":{"rendered":"Ergon Grants Round Opens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>October 29, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Community groups can apply for grants up to $5000 from Ergon Energy to deliver electrical safety or energy efficiency projects in regional Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are now open for Ergon Energy\u2019s Community Fund with grants between $200 and $5000 available for individual organisations and $50,000 in total to be shared.<\/p>\n<p>Community Strategy Manager Sara Collins encouraged local not-for-profit groups to develop innovative ideas that could benefit them and inspire their local community to adopt energy efficient and electrically safe behaviour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Examples of the sort of projects that could attract funding include those that:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reduce energy consumption, particularly during the peak period between 4:00pm and 8:00pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Upgrade equipment to more energy-efficient models<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Educate and encourage people to change the way they use energy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Use or promote renewable energy alternatives (solar, wind, hydro and biomass); and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep the community safe around electricity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Last year, 11 organisations across regional Queensland received grants, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wild Horse FM at Yarraman to replace old wiring, lighting and electrical systems with more energy-efficient models<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Blackbutt Agricultural Show Society to install new power outlets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>South Burnett Care at Kingaroy to replace its air conditioner with reverse cycle units<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications for the next funding round will close at 5:00pm on December 15.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For more details or to obtain an application form, visit the Ergon Energy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ergon.com.au\/about-us\/community-partnerships\/community-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Community groups can apply for grants up to $5000 from Ergon Energy to deliver electrical safety or energy efficiency projects in regional Queensland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":276896,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3],"tags":[32],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
