More than 200 families around the electorate of Nanango have received “Get Started” vouchers to help their children join a sport or recreation club.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said the vouchers, worth up to $150 each, provide an opportunity for youngsters to join a sport or recreation club.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe latest round of the Get Started program will help more than 13,500 children and young people around the State,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is particularly pleasing that this latest round has seen 202 vouchers issued in Nanango. In fact, more than 38 per cent of applicants who received a voucher said they had not played club sport previously, which is exactly what we\u2019re trying to achieve through this program … to increase participation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Successful applicants must ensure vouchers are redeemed at a Get Started-registered club by November 15. Registered clubs must redeem the vouchers by November 30.<\/p>\n

Round 5 of the program will open in February.<\/p>\n
