The Queensland Bulls Masters are coming back to the South Burnett for a great day of cricketing fun on November 2, this time challenging a local team dubbed “Lynda’s XI”.<\/p>\n

\n

The former Queensland players – and a couple of surprise guest players – will take on a local side in Kingaroy selected from South Burnett A Grade teams.<\/p>\n

The match has been organised by the community and\u00a0Relay For Life\u00a0patron Carl Rackemann.<\/p>\n

Carl said proceeds raised from the match would be donated to research into Crohn\u2019s Disease.<\/p>\n

\u201cLinda has been battling Crohn\u2019s Disease for some time and has always wanted to raise funds to go towards research and awareness for the disease,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately Linda was recently diagnosed with cancer, devastating the very popular local family.<\/p>\n

\u201cLinda\u2019s husband, Darren Geiger, is a local teacher who has been involved with helping local cricket for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n

“He was also a member of the local organising committee of the first ever Bulls Masters trip, which was to the South Burnett region in 2010, and contributed hugely to the success of that visit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bulls Masters and\u00a0Suncorp Bank\u00a0will also be donating a shade tent to the local community on the day.<\/p>\n

Bulls Masters managing director Jimmy Maher said the Bulls Masters were passionate about supporting cricket in regional Queensland and have been moved by the level of support the Kingaroy community has already provided Linda and her family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Geigers have well and truly been \u2018hit for six\u2019 and upon hearing of the battles they are facing, the Bulls Masters, together with Suncorp Bank, are keen to help in whatever way we can,\u201d Jimmy said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Play will get underway at noon at Lyle Vidler oval with facilities open from 11:00am.<\/p>\n

A bar and barbecue will be running all day and admission is by gold coin donation.<\/p>\n
