Some of the best Indigenous footballers in Queensland dropped into Cherbourg on Thursday to visit The Ration Shed and catch up on some local sporting history.<\/p>\n

The Deadly Choices Queensland Murri Men’s rugby league team will be taking on an all-Maori side in Brisbane on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The players and their team manager, Troy Byers, visited The Ration Shed and the Sports Museum in the old Boys’ Dormitory before heading on down to Jack O’Chin Oval for a training run ahead of their big match.<\/p>\n

The Murris will take on the Maoris at 4:00pm on Saturday at Kougari Oval at Wynnum Manly.<\/p>\n

A Queensland Murri Women’s team will face a NZ Maori Invitational side at 2:00pm.<\/p>\n

The men’s team will then pack their bags and fly out on Sunday for a tour of Fiji.<\/p>\n

The teams were selected after the recent QAIHC Arthur Beetson Murri Rugby League Carnival which brought together teams from all over Queensland at Redcliffe.<\/p>\n
