August 14, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n More than 1300 patients were admitted to Kingaroy Hospital during the first three months of this year – and 109 babies born – according to statistics released by Queensland Health.<\/p>\n There were 625 emergency admissions \u00a0and 2205 outpatient services.<\/p>\n The median wait for elective surgery was 46 days \u00a0(although 90 per cent of patients wait 56 days). This is \u00a0“out of range of the latest national performance, but not in the poorest performing group of hospitals”, according to the department’s classification system.<\/p>\n There were \u00a011 doctors (up 117.6 per cent on 2005 figures), 108 nurses (up 86.55 per cent) and 29 people employed in the “other health practitioner \/ professional \/ technical” category (up 20 per cent).<\/p>\n In comparison, at Toowoomba Hospital the median wait for elective surgery was 32 days, which is\u00a0 “better than or within range of the latest national performance” (although 90 per cent of patients wait 160 days).<\/p>\n The median wait in the emergency department was 20 minutes (a figure not provided for Kingaroy Hospital).<\/p>\n There were 7728 patient admissions, 3030 emergency admissions and 22,968 outpatients services. \u00a0 There were 206 doctors (up 61.81 per cent), 848 nurses (up 42.12 per cent) and 240 “health practitioner \/ professional \/ technical” staff (up 58.93 per cent).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" More than 1300 patients were admitted to Kingaroy Hospital during the first three months of this year – and 109 babies born – according to statistics released by Queensland Health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[172,3],"tags":[21],"yoast_head":"\n
