The amazing artistic talents of Kingaroy State High School students were unveiled to the public at the Kingaroy Art Gallery on Friday night.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell officially opened the exhibition which features almost 200 works from students from Year 8-12.<\/p>\n

KSHS art co-ordinator Wendy Corstiaans said all of the works were produced as part of art assignments over the past 12 months.<\/p>\n

A selection of students took turns to address the large crowd to explain their artworks.<\/p>\n

A special – and very different – entry is an installation by Year 12 student Amie Mason called “Chaos”.<\/p>\n

At first glance, the artwork looks like a chaotic mess of plastic piping, but shine a light on it and the shadows reveal “Chaos<\/a><\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

Amie submitted the work into the Creative Generation art awards for school students run by Education Queensland.<\/p>\n

She won the Darling Downs South-West division of the competition against strong opposition.<\/p>\n

“Chaos” will now go on show at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane next year.<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy State High School artworks will be on display at the Kingaroy Gallery until the end of October.<\/p>\n
